OT: App respository

John

Hi

I plan to develop a db app for free distribution but do not wish to provide
source code. Is there a repository like SourceForge.net available which is
not for open source?

Many Thanks

Googling on "free software" in Advanced Search gave a very large list.

But, as it has proven almost trivially easy to break security on Access
applications, it would be interesting to hear how you intend to protect your
source.

Why not host it yourself? Ae you saying
that you want someone else to provide the
download and host the file? Unless they've
changed, simtel.net does that. I think
download.com also hosts files. The down side
is that you can't always get your updates online,
or get your old software removed. It's not under
your control once you've uploaded. And good
luck getting any kind of response from CNet/
download.com about anything.
