Hi!

I know that the "old" PST had a size limit of 2GB, but what about the new
OST format? Is there any kind of limit?

Thanks
Sigi

Currently it is limited by the size of your mailbox on the Exchange server
and available free space on your harddisk. You can go far beyond Terrabytes
in size.

Same as .pst files -- default max is 20gb. Ultimate limitie is 33TB.

What's the difference between "default max" and "ultimate limit"? Can a OST
grow beyond 20gb in Outlook 2007 without any harm to the data?

Unicode PST/OST files are limited to 20MB unless the size limit is changed with a registry value, usually through GPO.

It can't grow larger unless the maximum size on the machine is set larger.
