OST and archiving

Hi All,

I am using Outlook 2003 in cached exchange mode and would like to know how
my .ost file synchs with my server mailbox after I have archived messages
locally on my PC. Does the Microsoft Exchange Server recognize that the
archived messages have already been sent to that particular PC and therefore
not re-send them? Also, I will be setting up the same account at other
PCs/locations and wanted to know if all the messages, including the archived,
would be downloaded again. Thanks for any help

Jim

thanks Shawn. Can you help me with one more scenario? Let's say I use cached
exchange mode on one PC and receive all messages from the mailbox, and then
do the same on a second PC. If I archive some messages on the second PC, what
happens to those messages on the first PC when it synchs with the server? Are
the messages removed from the ost file on the first PC? Thanks for your help

If you access an Exchange mailbox from two PCs and on one you archive some
items, the second PC will see them disappear and it won't have access to them
any more.
