OS wont start, Missing File

HI

well i am having problem with my PC, When you first turn it on, it seems
like its going to start by displaying the Windows XP logo and loading. But
after that a blue screen pop up displaying the following message:

STOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SYSTEM
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support for futher assistance.

Well thats what it says, i tried going into safe mode but the same message
gets displayed after trying to load. Please Help !
