I updated my XP through Microsoft and afterwards I
believe I got the Sasser worm. I have Norton Antivirus
on system but didn't help. I have instructions on how to
eliminate worm, but can't get to my Start menu or even a
command prompt b/c keeps shutting down. What can I do?
Please help!

You got the sasser worm by not keeping your system up to date with
security patches and not having a firewall active while surfing online.
Has nothing to do with windows updates. Try booting into safe mode to
do the repair.

Try to use a clean boot disk, start computer with it, you will have a
command prompt..
How can NAV so useless, thorw the junk away, download a copy of AVG or
Avest or AntiVir.......
But, have you try an online scan, Trend or Norton, if you can connect to
the internet.
