OS on Recovery CDs

Is there a way to extract the XP Operating system from Sony Vaio recovery
CDs. The hardware on my PC failed and I had to replace the system board and
power supply. Now I need to reinstall the OS and the system recovery CDs no
longer recognize the model of my PC. Any suggestions?

As it was a Sony hardware failure that caused your problem, perhaps you
should ask the what they can do about it..

If you replaced the motherboard and it's not a Sony, then you are no
longer authorized to use the Sony version of the OS/Software that came
with your PC.

Buy a retail copy of XP.
