Optimum lenght for XP Password

Is there an optimum length for the xp password? I thought I read that
14 characters was the best best on the encryption XP uses.

I don't think there is any particular evidence for protection getting
better once you get about seven or eight. The difficulty is to choose
something that *you* will easily remember, but which will not be easy to
guess, and nothing that could be found in a dictionary. My approach is
to take a word of fair length, and mis-spell it in a way *I* can
remember, then tag a digit on the end. As it were, start with dinosaur;
mis-spell as dyegnowsore3 say
