optimize logon & shutdown time

Hi,

My build is waiting too long during shutdown displaying the "Windows is
Shutting down" message and the same for the startup when showing the message
"Windows is starting up..."

any ideas how to shorten that priod of time?

Hi Yaron,

If you use RAM EWF then you can use fast shutdown native API functions. Let us know if you will have RAM EWF.

Hi Slobodan,

I do use EWF RAM. also, is there a way to disable the "saving you settings"
phase in the logoff process? it is irrelevant because I use EWF (nothing
will be saved anyway) and allthoug I use the local policy of disabling this
action- it still wait those few seconds.

In case you want to shutdown your device (not logoff) and you use native NTShutdownSystem call (that is what Slobodan meant, I
think) you won't see the "saving settings" dialog. In fact the shutdown process would happen so quick you won't even notice any UI.

Also I thing that xpepm.exe is using this call internally.
