Optimization Problem

Seasons' Greetings to All

I hope someone can help me with my problem.
I have been a long time user of Norton System Works, and frequently use the
programs "Speed Disk" function to defragment and "optimize" my hard drives.
I have the original 80 GB C: drive, and I have had a 250 GB F: drive
installed.
I have no problem defrag & optimizing the C drive, but the F drive will not
optimize, it shows the drive highlighted, shows "Optimizing" ... "Moving Data
: 0% ".
No matter how long I give it, it still will not optimize.
This causes Tremdous slow downs using that drive.

I know I can defrag using the Windows version, but is there ANY way the
Windows version will optimize as well ?

Also, when I come to this Help and Support section, when i sign in, and then
eneter my "25or6to4" in the search field, it USED to take me to ALL of my
previous questions histories ... now I get a block that shows as invalid.
Is there anything I can do to pull up my Previous Q&A's?
With that being a problem, I'm afraid if I log off of where this question is
now, I won't be able to get back to it unless I use the "arrow progression"
and manually searching back through all pages.

This really has me puzzled.

Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone can offer.

"optimize" the hd with "speed disk"....So they say, youre hd performance
gets handled thru the boards chipset & IDE controller, along with the
processor.
Other Software really has no bearing here, all hds run at thier specs from
the
mfg,7500rpm, 10,000rpm,etc..Try updating youre hardware with the drivers
from the mfg (intel, etc),then pitch all the 3rd party junk.....
