Hi, i've an old notebook Microstar md5971 and the cd reader (SBW 241) is
broken
i tryed to upgrade to HP , LG and NEC one, but the bios doesn't detect any.

should i have to flash bios or buy old unit compatible with my notebook?

any advice?

Notebooks (laptops) are very specialised PCs. Most of the time you can only
use original replacement devices.

Is the CD reader an internal unit???

What has this to with Windows XP? That computer's so old it certainly isn't
capable of running it!
