Opinions pls: dark font/light background or vice versa?

I've always believed that light fonts on dark backgrounds work best in dark
rooms such as theaters or large auditoriums, while the reverse (dark fonts
on light or white backgrounds) work best in well-lit rooms like classrooms.

What do people here think?

Also, how do people here set font size? I like really big fonts, especially
for large rooms, but many of the presenters I work with prefer smaller fonts
so they can fit more information on their slides.

Thanks.

Remind them that the amount of information they can fit onto their slides is
irrelevant.

What matters is the amount of information their audience can *read*.

Your instincts are good. Trust them.

Here's some more specific information that may help calculate the best minumum
text size for various situations:

How big should text be? What's the ideal font size?

Hi,

That has always been my theory. You don't want to have to have people
looking from a dark room on to a bright background .

Ha. Nicely said.

And thanks for the pointers...
