"operation failed"

I have Outlook 2000. When I click on the unread message icon in the taskbar
at the bottom, a window pops up saying "failed operation". Yet I can go to
send/receive and get the new email although it isn't at the top of the list
anymore, I'm finding the new messages in the middle of the old ones.
Anything I can do about both problems? Thanks!

Have you tried running Detect and Repair from the Help menu? (Have your
install disks ready). As for the new messages being in the middle, it's
based on how your messages are sorted. Click on the heading "Received" so
you sort them that way. Click it again if it gives you the oldest ones
first.
