Operation Failed Need Help

Using Outlook XP keep getting error message operation failed when I hit
send/receive it switched me to outlook connector setup system still failed
when I tried to send/receive should I delete and reinstall entire office xp

What type of account? WHat is the exact text of the error message? What,
if anything,. appears in the Event log?
