Operating system not found

I recently replaced my hard drive and attempted to load
XP Pro from the CD. Setup goes fine through the first
system reboot, but will not continue the installation.
If you leave the CD in after reboot, the setup runs again
from the beginning and recopies the setup files. After
the initial setup is complete and the files have been
copied, if you remove the CD and allow the system to
reboot without the CD in, the message "operating system
not found" is displayed.

Can someone assist?

Hi,

Try again this way:
1. Boot from the XP CD
2. Press Enter key to enter setup. (do not go to Recovery
Console)
3. Press F8 key to accept the licence agreement.
4. When prompted to press F6 key to install 3rd party/raid
drivers, do not press the F6 key if you don't need to
install those drivers.
5. Now windows setup should prompt you to format and
partition the drive, follow the onscreen instructions.
6. After formating the drive, setup continues.
7. After the first system reboot, DON'T press any key
otherwise windows would reload the setup files. Wait for a
while and setup would continue.
8. Follow the prompt to complete the Date, Time, regional,
users settings.
9. After all, windows should load after the reboot.
10. Now you can remove the XP CD from the CD tray.

Hope it helps.

Peter
