My Window XP professional has crushed repeatedly in
recent weeks. I replaced a new C-Drive; and my computer
repairman has repeatedly checked the system and found no
other problem. He said the computer must have been
infected with a virus! The computer was reloaded back
from scratch again last week, it worked for a few days.
Today when I turned it on, it just responded
with "Operation System Not Found" again! When I tried to
reinstall with the CD, it responded with "a problem
found" and showed some Techincal Information:
*** STOP: (0x00000050, OXFFFFFFE8, OXOOOOOO1,
OX807C89D7, OXOOOOOOOO.) What is my problem? Help
anyone!

Could be a bad memory chip. Go to memtest86.com and
download memtest to a floppy. Shut down and insert the
floppy. Startup and let memtest run for at least 12 hours.

Hi, Arthur.

That sounds like a hardware problem to me. After all, it says it hasn't
even found Windows to start loading it yet, so it must be a problem that
happens during boot before the OS loads.

First, check the simple stuff: Is your BIOS set to boot from floppy? Is
there a diskette in the drive? Does it have any operating system on it? Be
sure your BIOS is set to boot from your hard disk.

Since it worked for a few days, I assume WinXP was properly installed on the
new HD.

As Mike said, the problem most likely is defective RAM. Stop 0x50 is
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, pointing to a memory problem Or it could be
DIMMs not fully seated, or mismatched memory (how many sticks do you have
and are they compatible?) or loose or damaged cables, or PCI boards that
have worked loose - or any of many other possibilities. You can call your
computer repairman again - or just open up the computer case and check for
yourself; most of it is not brain surgery!

See this link:

Could be due to hardware or drivers. First attack the hardware issue.
Since the hard drive was just replaced, though new ones can go bad right
away, test the ram first. Reseat the memory chips. Download memtest86.
This can create a bootable CD or floppy. Run the test overnight.
