The Opsed author has released an minor update to account for Opera
9x (Technical Preview 1) search.ini file version change.

Opera Search.ini Editor (Opsed aka Op6sed) is a simple tool for easy
customization of the search engines used by the fastest browser on
earth, i.e. the Opera browser.

To customize your search engines you have to tell Opsed where your
Opera resides. Opsed will detect the appropriate search.ini file
automatically. If you have several copies of Opera installed on your
hard disk, you may set the active copy at any time in preferences:
File»Preferences»Opera tab»Opera location. Opsed will remember all of
the Opera copies you have ever chosen, and you will be able to change
the active search.ini file quickly by selecting an appropriate Opera
folder using the Opera location dropdown list (arrow 1 at Fig. 2)."

Requirements:
Version 6/7/8/9 of Opera Browser is required (latest version tested:
9.0 TP1 build 8031). Opsed may or may not work with any newer version
of Opera.
Note: Due to a large database and the way the predefined search
engines are stored (a plain text ini file), the Opsed's start-up time
may be long if your machine is not fast enough (it's approximately 0.4
s on my Athlon 1.2 GHz but some users have reported ~20 seconds
start-up times on their machines)."

I was able to edit Opera's search.ini file adding the below engines to
search/field/find that I have as a GUI/box next to the URL locator in
about two minutes of work, saving me hours of doing it manually as an
ini tweak/edit. For time saving consideration alone I recommend Opsed
as a worthy freeware addition to Opera (freeware) Browser.
