When I do a file|open, the web opens in a new window, leaving the initial
window empty. I can't find a setting for this. I have FP 2002, SP2 running
on WXP.

After you have use File Menu | Open Web, then just double-click a file to
open it in Folder or Page View

Thomas, I believe that that is what I am doing. It opens in a new instance
of FP.

Start by making sure FP is not already opening a web when it opens
- set in Tools Options
Open FP and select View Folder List
If there is no FP web open, use File Open Web

If you still get 2 instances of FP running try running a repair on FP

Unchecking the box "automatically open last web" fixed the problem. I don't
understand why it would open an empty window instead of actually opening the
last web. Anyway, that little annoyance is gone.

Thanks very much.
