all the other documents on the disc open except for one. when i try to open it it says to check document extension but i have opened it in the past many times without problems. Its got the only copy of my cv on it ,so any help would be gratefully received!! I have tried open and restore in case it was damaged but had no joy.

What is the document extension? (It's the bit after the full stop, e.g.
"cv.doc")

In order to open a Word document, there must be enough free space on the
disk to hold a copy of the document. This is often not the case when
working on a floppy. Generally speaking, the Word gurus recommend
that you never open any document directly from a floppy, but always copy
it to the hard drive first. Floppies are good for backup, but not for
ongoing operations -- and if these are truly important documents, always
make at least two backups. Floppies do go bad.
