Opening Word causes new Document2, Document3, etc. to open.

Hello,
Every time I open the Word.exe I get a new Document2, Document3,
Document4... (currently on Document16). I thought there was a place that you
can remove the old temporary files so it will go back to Document1 but I am
unsure where that is.

My set up if it matters is this. I VPN to my work computer and then Remote
Desktop. I open Outlook (which uses Word Editor) and I have seen the article
about this being by design.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;135073 but I am
wondering if there is a place I can go to reset it back to Document1.

I did a search in the registry for Document14 (when I had that one open) and
I did a search on the computer for it as well to see if it shows up Hidden.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I know it isn't broken just a nuisance.

Thank you,
David

You have to close down Word _and_ Outlook to reset to Document1. (Sometimes, if
there's been a massive crash, for example, you may need to reboot Windows)

When Outlook is used as the email editor it locks Word open. That's why the
document numbering doesn't reset.
