Opening Windows Mail

When I open Windows mail, the most recent message is always highlighted and
will open automatically in the bottom portion of the window. Outlook express
also did this. Is there any way to set Windows mail up so that no message
will open unless I do it manually?

Yes, you can do that if you configure Windows Mail without the preview
pane: View, Layout, untick "Show preview pane".
