opening windows in order

My IT person messed up my Outlook settings, and now when I click on "new" to
create a new email, it doesn't open the window on the taskbar next to the
last open item, but rather right next to the Outlook window on the taskbar.
This is very annoying and I can't seem to find how to fix it. Can anyone
help?
 
That is not an Outlook setting but a Windows setting. In your Taskbar and
Start Menu Properties deselect the option "Group similar taskbar buttons"
 
I did try that, but the "Group similar taskbar buttons" shows as NOT
selected, so I'm not sure what else I can do. Any other ideas?
