opening weblinks in outlook 2003 mail

Can I use firefox to open weblinks in outlook mail? currently it uses IE to
open the links- I tried to configure it using firefox and I'd get an error
message saying browser couldn't be located. I set it to IE and no problems,
but I prefer firefox as a browser.
FYI- firefox is my default web browser - therefore I don't understand why I
can't set it as default for outlook as well.
