Hello,

I recently had to hand in my laptop for repair and saved a handful of draft
Outlook messages onto a memory stick as I had wanted to send them off while
my laptop was in the shop. The emails are saved as "Outlook Items". The
problem is that now that I am trying to open them on my desktop at home
(which does not have Outlook configured on it) I am unable to do so. I even
tried opening them with other applications (i.e. Explorer, Word, Notepad) and
that us proving unsuccessful. What Can I do?

Install Outlook. That's the program that .msg files are designed to open with.

Sue,

Thanks for the note. I DO have Outlook installed on my desktop at home but
when I try to open the emails, I still receive an error message. The Outlook
on my desktop is, however, NOT configured - could that be the problem?
Thanks...

Amit

Yes, even without having any idea what you mean by not configured, I'd say that until you can run Outlook without error, you're going to get errors opening .msg files.
