Opening .pst files from CD

I have a CD that contains .pst files. I've tried to open the files in
Outlook and receive the error message that I do not have access to the files.
I've also tried to open them just via "My Computer" and cannot 1. select
Outlook as the program to open in and 2. cannot just double click on the
file. Any suggestions? I'm using Outlook 2003 and the CD's label says the
..pst is also 2003.

Are the file's properties Read Only??

Yes, but when I try to remove the Read Only, I get ""An error occurred
applying attributes to the file...Access is denied"

You cannot open pst-files directly from a CD nor can you change the
properties of the files on a CD as they are Read Only by definition (CD
ROM).

Copy the pst-file to your hard disk, remove the Read Only property and then
connect to it in Outlook via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

I did those things and got an error "File Access is denied. You do not have
the permission required to access the file"

Ok, I tried it all again from scratch and was able to open, but only got a
blank screen, however I know there are over 1200 items in the file...
