Opening ppt2003 file in ppt2007 - Can't read outline...

When I try use ppt2007 to open a file created on another computer in ppt2003,
I receive the following error message:
"PowerPoint can't read the outline from .... No text converter is installed
for this file type."
The file won't open at all.
Any ideas as to the cause?

Still an error. ppt2003 actually says the file is corrupt.

file. Out of curiosity, does the file open in PPT 2003, or do you also get
the same or similar error there?

In that case, the file truly is corrupt; it's not just PPT 2007 not liking a
