opening pictures

can anyone tell me why i cant open jpeg or bmp images on
win xp i have all the usual programmes that come with xp
plus adobe photoshop 7 pls help

If this is a recent problem, you probably need to empty your Temporary
Internet Files folder. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet
Options...; In the dialog box, click on "Delete Files..." in the middle
section.

I honestly don't know the answer. I suspect it has something to do with the
allocation of RAM or other drivespace for this. Your question in original
post is a daily "problem" for which emptying Temporary Internet Files is the
easiest "fix". An MVP, I'm not; maybe one of them will see this and reply
with why.
