Opening PDFs

I accidentally told IE6 to open PDFs with a program that
no longer exists and forgot to uncheck the "always use
this program" box. Now, when I try to open PDFs I get an
error message. How do I change the settings so that PDFs
are opened with Adobe Reader 6?

You can try going to Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>File types. Scroll
down to PDF and click on change then select Adobe Reader.
 
I think what you need is to bring back the Open With dialog so that you can
reconfigure a default program to open PDF files.

Please try the following and see if it resolves your problem.

1. Right-click on PDF file of your choice to bring up context menu
2. Select "Open With" -> "Choose Program"

There, you can browse and select a program of your choice. And you will
have access to check/un-check the "always use this program" option.
