Opening old word documents in Office 2007

I have downloaded Microsoft Office Professional 2007. Many of my old word
documents cannt be opened and there is no provision of a programme to open
them with. How can I remedy this withou having to get rid of Office 2007.

How old are your old documents? Word 2007 will open documents in Word
97-2003 format at least.
