Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
You may try to Create a shortcut for IE on the Desktop then set the shortcut
"run" property to start in maximized window.
One way to create a shortcut is;
Locate IE on Start Menu
Right Click and choose "Send To> Desktop (create shortcut)"
On the created short cut do the following:
Right Click then choose Properties
On properties dialog set "Run" attribute to Maximized.
