Opening .msg Files

Can I open an email that was saved as a .msg file, if Outlook is not open?
Previously I have saved emails to various project directories, and when I
needed to read one, I grabbeed it in Explorer and it opened in Outlook. Now
I am accessing email over an Outlook exchange server on the internet. If I
go to Explorer and grab the file, it cannot open it since Outlook is not
available. Can I save as something else..? Or get them from the exchange
server...?

You cannot open a .msg file unless Outlook is installed. Double-clicking it
should open Outlook if it's not already.

Probably using Outlook Web Access.

As far as I know, OWA has no "Save" function at all because OWA is merely a
web-based client for Exchange and it cannot access your local machine and
OWA suppresses your web browser's menu bar.

However, I can think of two ways to save. One is to open Notepad, Wordpad,
or Word on your PC and cut/paste from the OWA preview frame into the text
app. You can then save it from there. Another alternative is to have the
"Open Frame in New Window" IE powertoy installed, right-click in the preview
frame, select "Open Fram..." and then use IE's Save As function.
