Dear All!

I faced a new problem in Outlook 2003.
When I try to open an e-mail attachment by doubleclicking on it, it always
has the following popup (I try to translate it from Hungarian, hoping you'll
recognize)
"Open only attacments that belong to e-mails from thrustworty source.
Attachment: so & so
Do you want to open it or save to the harddisk?
|Open| |Save| |Cancel|
Checkbox: Always ask before open this filetype."

The problem is, it always forgets that I unchecked this box, and asks me
again & again even with all the jpg attachments of the same letter.

Does anyone know how I can make my computer understand that, I have
unchecked that damned question?

Config: WinXP SP-2, Office 2003.

Thank you all!

Control Panel, Folder Options, File Types tab .. Select the DOC association
in question
then Advanced and check "confirm open after download".

Dear BillR,

I'm sorry, but it didn't work. First of all, the problem is not present with
DOC attachment, but it is with JPG-s.

I did what you suggested, but it still asks me the question about the
attachment.

"Open only attacments that belong to e-mails from thrustworty source.
Attachment: so & so
Do you want to open it or save to the harddisk?
|Open| |Save| |Cancel|
Checkbox: Always ask before open this filetype."

I tried it when "confirm open after download" was checked, and also when it
was unchecked at the Control Panel\Folder options\File types\...

At the question panel in Outlook 2003 it is always checked, no matter if I
uncheck it, next time it will be checked again.

Additional info: Instead of default WinXP picture viewer, I use Irfanview.

Thanx for your help,
Gabriel Holics

Do it for the jpg association and not the doc one. I copied and pasted that
but forgot to change the file type.

Of course I did it with the JPG, I am not a rookie (I am a one eyed among
blind people :-)
The outlook program should rememeber that I unchecked it, when it asked it
the first time.
It was okay for a while, then after one auto-update it stopped remembering
my choice.
Other computers remember if I check or unchenck in outlook when it asks.

Gabor
