There's really no thing as a DOS file. The way you open a file
depends on what kind of file it is--what application it was
created in, and what its extension is. Tell us what it is for
more information.
The fact that it's 300MB is irrelevant. It also doesn't matter
that you're using Windows XP. This is an application issue, not
an operating system one.
I am not sure how file was created. It is an Adobe
application file that is 329 megs and when I try to open
it-a dos window opens-stays black and then goes away.
What other info do you need? I have run accross this
before and it says " not enough memory" but I have 1/2
gig of memory

Adobe is a company, not an application. *What* Adobe application
created it? What is the file's extension?
How are you trying to open it? In what program? Is this a DOS
program or a Windows version? Have you successfully opened other
such files with this application under Windows XP?
It is a .exe file. Normally, I just double click those.
I don't know what program created the file but I think it
is some kind of self-extracting file like a zip file-but
I have winzip so I know thats not it.
