Opening Excel 2007 Book1 problem

I experimented with creating Macro's in Excel 2007. Now, everytime I open
Excel, Book1 opens, and remain open when I open another existing file. When I
close the existing opened file, Book1 is still open. I tried to hide it, but
then the 'frame' still remain open.

Before you start experimenting with macros, you need to be comfortable with
Excel. Everytime any version of Excel opens Book1 is displayed. This is the
default behavior of all versions of Excel.

In Excel opening a file does not close down other open files.

If you don't want to keep a file open, don't hide it just close it.

Hi Shane, Thank you for your response. Normally when I open Excel, Book1 is
opened. If I then select from my files, another workbook, it is opened as a
second workbook. (I can click between the two) When I close the second
workbook, Book1 is still open, and I must then manually close Book1 as well.
I recorded Macro's in 2003 version, but 2007 is slightly different and I did
something wrong when it asked me where do I want to save the Macro. The Macro
worked fine, but the Book1 staying open at all times then started. I deleted
the Macro, but no solution yet.

Hello - the issue DanieB is seeing also is happening to me. I have some Excel add-ins installed, is that what's causing a Book 1 to open when I open existing spreadsheets? It's really annoying!!
