Opening .doc files

All of a sudden, when attempting to open existing Word .doc files, they open
under the Windows Picture and Fax viewer with an accompanied "no preview
available" message. HELP tells me to click change button in Properties, but I
have no change button showing. All folders show as a Word file, but somehow,
the default has changed, or something.

Not a good idea...re registering word now prevents me from opening any folder
in My Documents. In the meantime, I found a bad association in My Computer
and corrected that. Now it's on to re-install my Word and hope for the best.

There is no way that reregistering Word would prevent you from opening
document folders. All it does is reassociate Word with the .doc, .dot, and a
few other file types.
