Opening attachments in mail

I have a new computer running Vista. When I open my mail, everything seems to
work fine except I can't open an attachment created with "MSWord". I also
don't seem to be able to use hyper links that are imbeded in my mail. Any
suggestions on how to fix this?

For the first problem, try this fix:

For the second problem, assuming IE is your favorite browser:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet
Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
