I would like to know if the first time to open an application ( after boot
up) such as Microsoft Money of 15 to 20 seconds is unusual. After closing
it and reopening it again it is much faster.
I am UsingXP Home.
Thanks

That would depend on how Microsoft Money is configured. For example, does
Money connect to the Internet when first opened? That could take extra time.
Open Money and see what it's doing the first time it starts.

This is normal behaviour. The program file is still cached in RAM even
though you've closed it. The second and subsequent times you launch the
program, it's available in memory rather than having to be read from the
disk.
