In the "Open" window, the "Look in" drop down arrow would show a complete folder tree in older versions of Word. Can I get my "Open" window in Windows XP, Word to do the same thing? Is there a "view" or "show" menu to make this change?

??? What are you currently seeing? On every installation I've ever had, I have access to the full folder tree. Do you have any addins or document manager installed that might be affecting what's presented? If you
- single click a word icon (to select it, without starting Word)
- hold CTRL
- press Enter (or double-click the icon) to start Word

You'll be starting it in "safe mode". this will lock out all customizations and addins. Do you see something different, in this case?
