Opening an Excel attachment

E

Edson

Hello,
I cannot open Excel attachments from inside Outlook.
It is shown a security message and is given an option to save the
attachments or cancel. (I can open all other attachments without this
warning appearing).
I have included .xls files in the registry exception. I´m using
Excel 2002 and Outlook 2002, and emails come from an Exchange server.

Any sugestions?

Thanx in advance

First, don't open attachments directly from Outlook. Period. Ever. This
means you.
Most times, there is no problem doing this, but, if you do, one day you will
regret it, big time.

Now that I've told you to not play on the outside of the balcony railing,
you are an adult. So, if this is a recent problem (within the last week),
see if this helps:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165 ("Problems in Windows Explorer or the
Windows shell after you install security update MS06-015").

Thanks for replying, Kenyon, but unfortunaly that MS paper didn't help. It
only refers to HP periferals, and I don't have anyone installed in this
machine. Additionaly, the KB908531 was published only on 04/11/06, and the
problem is prior to that.

Any other hint?

It is not just HP; there are others. But if your problem predated the
update, I don't have any suggestions.
