opening an account

I am trying to set up my email account for: (e-mail address removed) on my new
laptop, on windows mail, I keep getting the error message. What am I doing
wrong? I am putting pop.mail.yahoo.com as the incoming server, and
smtp.mail.yahoo.com as the outgoing one.

We need you to select the complete error message and then right click >copy,
then paste that error message to your reply here, to be able to help you.

the same problem is occurring to me when i try and register my gmail account

It is rather doubtful you have the same problem.
Do you get an error message when you try to send or receive? If so,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
