Opening a Word Doc Displays Unwanted Template Link

When I (and others) open (some) Word files I created with a template, a
progress window displays the link path to the template, and says it's
accessing the template on the corporate server. This also delays the doc's
opening.
How do I stop this?

Once the document has finally opened, click Tools > Templates & Add-Ins. Click
the Attach button next to the "Document template" and select Normal.dot.

Save the document. You may have to make some editing change, such as inserting
and then deleting a space, to make Word think the document needs to be saved.

Thanks -- but that seems to be for Office 2003. Where dio I go in Word 2007?
(I tried looking for it...)
Also, what will your suggestion do to the many different styles from my
custom template?

When you're asking a question about Word 2007, please mention that first.

In Word 2007, first go to Office button > Word Options > Popular and check the
option "Show Developer tab in the ribbon".

On the Developer tab, click the Document Template button to open the same dialog
as in Word 2003.

This won't do anything to your styles, because they're stored in the document at
the moment the document is created; there's no connection to the template's
styles unless you check the "Automatically update document styles" box in the
Templates dialog. For details, see
