opening a word doc at last place saved

I am in the process of writing a very long document in word - several
hundreds of pages - and would like to know if there is a way for me to save
the document so that when I re-open it it will be at the last page that I
typed i.e.page 220 instead of back at the begining again as I it is laborious
to say the least to have to scroll through loads of pages just to get to the
end of the document, especially if I can't remember what number the last page
was to use the 'go to page'.
Any advice or help will be much appreciated.

Open the document, and either press Ctrl+End to go to the end of
the document, or press Shift+F5 to go to the location of the most
recent edit in the document.

Hi Sharon

I don't know about doing it automatically, but I do know that when you open
the document by pressing Shift+F5 it will take you to the last place that you
edited before closing (and saving) the document.

You can also create a shortcut to the point of choice.
Highlight a word, or words, right click and drag to either the desktop or a
folder of choice.

Select Create Shortcut Here. Save the document.
When you open the shortcut, you will be taken to the point that you
highlighted when you create the document.
