Greetings

I have a computer in my network that was working fine about a week or so ago
Since then I can't figure out what has happened. No new installs, patches, update
or anything other than daily application usage

Anyway, When this computer browses a web page that gives them the option o
seeing a document in excel format or pdf format. You click on the link, it open
up the Open / Save / Cancel dialog. When we clicked on either of these links
week ago we chose open and the document would be displayed in the browse
window or a new window (can't remember which one) as a pdf or excel format

Now when you click the excel format, then open - you now get another bo
forcing you to save the file prior to viewing it. And when you view it, you are no
viewing it in IE/Excel, it just launches excel separately. When you click on th
pdf format, then open - you now get an error message saying the page could no
be found. But again, if you save it and then open it everything works fine becaus
it's not IE/Reader it's just reader

Is there a place to check my plugins for these types of things
Should I reinstall IE? Office? Reader? Everything
I have never seen this behavior on any machine I have worked on

The environment is 2000 Workstation, SBS Server with softwar
distributed and updated from a central repository or SUS

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

John
