"open with" context menu

Has anyone instructions to manually add entries to the registry to fix
my problem below?

----------------
I recently installed Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 alongside Dreamweaver MX
2004. When trying to open a file by selecting Dreamweaver.exe (v8) from
the right-click "Open With" context menu it opens the older version of
Dreamweaver.

I uninstalled Dreamweaver MX 2004 so not to cause conflict, but now when
using the right-click "Open With" command Dreamweaver is not listed so I
go to "Choose Program..." and find Dreamweaver.exe on my computer.

Problem is even after selecting Dreamweaver.exe it is still not listed
in the "Open With" dialog box!

Select the Always use this program to open these files check box.

[[Specifies that the next time you open this file, or any other file having
the same file name extension, you want Windows to use the program that you
specify here.]]

Right-click a file and then click Open With.

Open With--Recommended Programs list
Under Programs, click the program in which you want the file to open, or
click Browse to locate the program you want.

Open With--No Recommended Programs list
Under Programs, click the program in which you want the file to open, or
click Browse to locate the program you want. You can also type a comment
that provides information about the file type. This information will appear
in the folder window under Details when you view the file in a folder.

To ensure that Windows always uses the same program to open the file, or any
other file with the same file name extension, in the Open With dialog box,
select the Always use this program to open these files check box.

Thanks for your reply but that is not a solution to my problem. Please
read my post again.

Even if I Browse from the "Open With" dialog to locate the program I
want and select the program it does not show up in the "Open With"
dialog list of programs either under Recommended Programs or Other Programs.

I'm sure it's a registry issue and I hope somebody can help me with a fix!

Cheers, Marty

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications
Look for Dreamweaver

To allow the application to be shown in the Open With list delete the
NoOpenWith value.

That particular entry was not there but

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Dreamweaver.exe\shell\open\command

contained String Value with Dreamweaver MX 2004 instead of Dreamweaver 8
so I changed it and it now works!

Wesley you wrote previously:
"You can also type a comment that provides information about the file type."

How do you do this? I see no option there to create comment about a
particular file type.

Thanks for all your help,

Marty
