Open Remote Web problem

S

Sam Carter

I opened a remote web and published it locally. I must have been lucky
because I'm having problems (with the same web) now:

- Open Web, enter the http://myweb.com URL seems to open only the default
page, not the website.

OR - I get the following error:

The folder http://www.myweb.com/ isn't accessible. The folder may be
located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the
filename contains / or \.

The folder "http://Website" isn't accessible. The folder may be located on
an unavailable volume or protected with a password.

Tried installing the JimCo addin for Open Web:

Error: 1911 Could not register type library for file c:\Program Files\Open
Web\OpenWeb.dll.

Contact your support personnel.

You're right.

I've dropped the JimCo add-in. Sounds like it's time for a Microsoft
support call.

Problem solved.

The Frontpage Extensions were "broken" on the remote website and had to be
installed again.
