Open picture attachments in Office Picture Manager.

When I receive an attachment that is a picture (jpg, bmp, etc) in outlook
2003 and I try to open it from the email, MS office picture manager opens and
then just displays the red x, like the same red x that you get when graphics
are missing from websites. I can save the graphic attachment from the email,
to say my desktop, and then open it from there, but I can't directly open the
graphic from within the email. I can only view it by saving it first. Any
ideas why I can't open the picture from email in outlook 2003? (using windows
xp-sp2 and ms office 2003 sp1).

So far i have tried Detect & Repair with no success, reinstalled office with
now success.

What has worked is re-doing hte roaming Profile. However, after a few weeks
it has occurred again. No other software installs or system settings have
changed since.

this isn't really an Outlook issue since Outlook will use the default
viewer. you might try changing the default viewer for those files.

Thansk for that. I have already changed the deafult viewer to something else.

However, that is only a work around for what is going on. I am after a fix
or possible fix behind why it is occuring.

I'm not sure which group deals with picture manager - try an office general
group or imaging group.
