why do word attachments open in Microsoft Office Picture manager

attachmentless

When I open a word attachment (.doc) in email, Office Picture Manager appears
and I cannot open the document
 
Does it open in Word if you save it first?

I found the answer on Yahoo answers. I needed to get into Window Explorer
Tools and change the WORD default program. I question is how did the default
get changed to Picture Manager? Anyway it worked. Thank you for your
interest.
