In Win98, was able to use a Desktop shortcut to open a
separate new IE window at a specific URL, without
affecting any previously opened IE windows. Since
upgrading to XP, my old command line always reuses the
last IE window I opened. I believe my shortcut ran this:

iexplore.exe "http://www.xxx.com"

Can this be done in XP?

Thanks,
SJ

Do you have the "Reuse windows for lauching shortcuts" option enabled? If
this option is checked IE will reuse currently opened window to display the
shortcut. This option is under the Advanced tab in the Internet Option.

Yes, this option was checked. I'll uncheck it and give
it a try. Thanks a bunch for your help.
