open multiple windows

What a newbie! Using XP Pro, but can't figure out how to
keep open multiple windows at once: e.g. Windows Explorer
window with Word. When I click on the active Word window,
the Explorer window minimizes. I can't keep both open and
active and switch between them. I appreciate your help
for this goofball newbie...DG
 
Hi David,

Make sure neither window is maxamized. Than they will both show.
