Open is not the first option in shirtcut menu

When we right click on my computer it gives a menu with Open as the first
item but on my computer at work open is the second item so when i click on my
computer it dosn't open it . My question is how can change the order of items
in that particular shortcut menu?!

Harvey, were you able to find a solution for your question? For some people
this situation may not be a big deal, but it is a major inconvenience for me.
For 3 years I have used XP and it always displayed the folder's contents
when clicked. But in the last week, it has decided to open a search window
each time I click on any folder. To find out that when I right-click on the
folder icon the "Search" is now bold and at the top of the list, and the
"Open" is now fourth.

I have tried to look into this but the I'm apparently not using the right
verbiage because I have only been able to find solutions for adding and
replacing menu items in the Office applications, or advanced software
programming class code design.

Would appreciate any thoughts from anyone...especially to know why suddenly
it changed so that I can maintain it in the future.
