Open File Security Warning

Ted

Hi all,

I'm having problems opening some Access 2000 databases on our server and
some DBs won't open at all by double-clicking on them in Windows Explorer. I
have to open Access, browse to the file and open it that way. If I don't
open them up through Access I get an Open File Security Warning like I'm
downloading a file from the internet.

I noticed this started happening when I installed the last Windows XP
update. I'm thinking this is some sort of a Windows XP issue not Access but
I thought maybe someone here would have some insight.

If I want to add the server to the Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer. Does
anyone know how to optain the IP address of the server from my machine?

TIA
Ted

When you look at the properties of the file (right-click, properties), is
there a button to 'unblock' the file?

To add the server to the trusted zone, you don't need the IP address, just
put in the server name \\whatever
